Location

Sarawak is the largest state of Malaysia, occupying the northwestern coast of Borneo — the world’s third-largest island. It borders Sabah (Malaysian Borneo) to the northeast, Indonesian Kalimantan to the south, and Brunei to the north. Total area: 124,450 km² (slightly larger than England).

Getting There

  • Kuching International Airport (KCH): 11km from city center. Taxis, Grab, and hotel transfers available.
  • Miri Airport (MYY): Gateway to Mulu National Park (30-minute flight) and northern Sarawak.
  • From Peninsular Malaysia: 1.5-hour flight from Kuala Lumpur; 2-hour flight from Singapore.

  • By Air: Kuching International Airport (KCH) — main gateway with direct flights from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Bandar Seri Begawan, and limited direct connections from China and Australia. Miri Airport (MYY) for Mulu and northern access.
