- Chinese: Hokkien, Teochew, and Mandarin widely spoken in Kuching’s Chinese community.

- Mobile: 4G coverage in cities and major towns; patchy or absent in interior and Mulu. Celcom and Maxis have best rural coverage.
- Prepaid SIM: Available at KCH airport from 25 MYR.
- Digital Detox: Many jungle lodges intentionally have no connectivity — plan accordingly.
